Gobble Gobble! Cult Following presents our FAVORITE Thanksgiving movies & TV Specials
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Naturally, number one favorite is Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Steve Martin is desparately trying to get home for Thanksgiving and runs into John Candy. This movie is ultimately quotable, and worth the watch just for the car rental scene.
Dutch
Dutch. Ed O’Neil brings his soon-to-be and AWFUL step-son home for Thanksgiving and shenanigans abound. O’Neil shines in this one as a bumbling lovable fool, and not as abrasive as some other roles he’s known for. Screenplay written by John Hughes and it feels it.
Addams Family Values
Controversially, Addams Family Values. Yes, technically, it happens in the summertime but the fantastic Thanksgiving play steals the whole movie. EAT ME!
A Garfield Thanksgiving
Finally, Garfield Thanksgiving. Poor Jon is trying to get a date on Thanksgiving(why?) but GRANDMA comes to the rescue. It’s cute, it’s short, and Grandma is the coolest old lady that ever existed (besides my own).
Yes, I know there’s more Thanksgiving movies like Son-in-Law & Grumpy Old Men but these are my favorites. What are yours?
